The role of context in interpreting problematic verses from perspective Al-Fakhr Al-Razi

Abstract

This article aims to highlight the role of context in directing meaning and can be divided into two branches and its effective role in directing meaning through knowledge of the situation. As for the second, it came out of the phenomenon, from a narrow scope of theorizing to the breadth of application, by presenting a number of Quranic models that Al-Razi was exposed to in his interpretation, to show us and the reader in the light of the impact of that phenomenon in directing the meanings of the Qur'an. The importance of the research lies in the fact that it sheds light on the concept of context and its role in directing the semantics of words when Fakhr al-Din al-Razi, and previous studies were limited to language books and did not examine it in the books of the principles of jurisprudence, especially the book of the crop in the origins of jurisprudence by al-Razi, which is rightly a circle of science in his time, the approach imposed by the nature of the study is the descriptive approach as the research dealt with the concept of context and its sections accompanied by applied examples that show the importance of context in directing meaning.
