Abstract

Studying sustainable energy security is one of the sources of strength for the state, as many indications indicate that the global energy system has begun a phase of transformation from total dependence on fossil energy sources, to a new era in which renewable energy sources play an important role in meeting the growing needs for energy demand, which derives its strength from its natural sources that are characterized by renewal and never run out (sun, wind, water, geothermal heat). The rational behavior of any state requires that it keep pace with these changes and strive seriously to support efforts aimed at gradually introducing renewable energy systems within its energy production system so that it does not fall behind the rapid global development, In the context of the escalation of relations between the state of conflict, competition, imposition of influence and resources, the foreign policy strategies of many countries have dealt with issues of energy security and the development of their own infrastructure in addition to the formation of a common system as major geopolitical factors that determine the influence of the state and the extent of its impact. Energy security is treated as a basic variable for the power of the state. The future of global energy seems increasingly ambiguous. The global economic crisis of 2008-2009 cast its shadow over energy markets around the world and pushed them towards turmoil, Energy security, which has become increasingly important with the increase in competition over energy resources on the one hand and the policies of producing countries on the other hand, as energy-consuming countries have begun to develop strategies to pay attention to the security dimension, as is the case for producing countries that have developed special strategies. These strategies came in light of the energy crises witnessed in the twentieth century that were linked to a shortage of supplies, which supported the idea that achieving security of supply would achieve energy security. Accordingly, the first person to propose a definition of energy security had focused on the aspect of diversifying sources in order to diversify security of supply, as British Prime Minister Winston Churchill indicated that (energy security lies in diversity and diversity only)..
