Abstract

     The word “God” is one of the most common names among nations of different religions, beliefs, and times. Some researchers have wondered about the origin of this blessed name, is it Arabic or non-Arabic? It was said: It is not Arabic, and those who say so have their evidence, and it was said: It is Arabic due to the lack of evidence for what was mentioned of Arabization. The truth is that its meaning has been used in the past and in modern times with words that suit every language. The Canaanites used to call it (El), and from it say: Gabriel meaning angel of God, and Israel meaning servant of God. And the Persians: (God, Izd), the Jews: (Neil, the illusion, and the god), and the Buddhists call it: (Aum). The English: (Cod), the French: (Dieu), and the Germans: (Cott).

What indicates that it is knowledge is that it is described with all the beautiful names and all its actions taken from those names without an opposite... It is correct what was said that the word majesty is a name for the necessary existence that collects all the attributes of perfection, otherwise it is a knowledge of predominance that no care has worked in it other than what is indicated by the substance of God . It is the noblest term in all possibilities, for the greatest meaning in all existing things.

And the pronunciation of His Majesty (Allah) is a non-derivative noun, so it is not permissible to omit the alif and the lam from it; Because it is one of the names based on the original four letters. As for the use of Allah in the call, its origin is (O Allah), and the stressed meme is replaced by the letter of the call (ya), and they only meet irregularly, and this opinion is the most likely among the scholars.
